  1. Make a Danelectro sound great too!

Posted by Unknown on 5th Nov 2014

Been using these on my Danelectro Hodad 12 for a couple years now. They feel and sound great and best of all they stay in tune!

  2. Thomastik/Infeld, awesome strings!

Posted by chuck on 14th Sep 2014

I've purchased and installed thomastik/infeld flatwound strings on my 64' gretsch country gentleman and loved the feel and tone I experienced. I loved them so much that when I recently purchased a 90' rickenbacker 360/12v64 I thought why not?, and began seeking out a set of flat wounds for the ric as well. After finding the set I was looking for through pick of the ricks and installing them I noticed that same great feel and tone I've come accustomed to. From now on, I'm (stik)ing with ThomaSTIK/ Infeld strings they're the best!

  3. These are the strings you want on your Ric 12

Posted by Charles Boehmig on 17th Jul 2014

These strings, along with a good setup, will help you get a great sound and wonderful feel out of your Rickenbacker 12. Mine's a 330-12 from 1997, and when I took possession of it it was strung up with some roundwounds of unknown origin. I tore those rancid strings off faster than you can say Thomastik-Infeld and put these flatwound beauties on. A few truss rod tweaks later and my 12er is playing like butter and I'm nailing those Hard Day's Night tones I bought the guitar for in the first place. These strings are pricey but you get what you pay for.

  4. Great Strings!

Posted by Unknown on 14th Jul 2014

These strings made my Rick 360/12 a bit easier to play, and have a very nice sound. I'm glad Pick of the Ricks offers them.

  5. A perfect match!

Posted by kenny Howes on 6th Jun 2014

Thomastik-Infeld flatwound strings are the closest match I have found to original 1960s and 1970s Maxima strings, as branded by and for Rickenbacker...and believe me, I've played many collected NOS of such instruments. Their low tension makes them last, literally, for years. Thank goodness POTR offers a set for electric 12-string.

Quick turnaround and great communication go without saying. Thanks as always!

  6. Excellent sounds

Posted by Unknown on 20th Mar 2014

Strung my 360-12 with these Thomastik flat wounds and the sound is fantastic. Really, this is the sound you expect to hear from a Rickenbacker 12 string.

  7. Nice flatwounds for a 360 12

Posted by Unknown on 26th Jan 2014

Recently purchased a '98 360 12. During my research I heard that these guitars sound best with flatwounds, but you have to be careful who you buy them from.

John Hall believes that some string makers are not careful in holding string diameters consistent through the length, making them impossible to intonate.

Well, I bought these very expensive strings, and put them on the guitar this week. After the customary settling in, they tuned up and held real nice, and the intonation is fine.

They do sound "authentic" in the 60's Beatles/Byrds jangle way, but I will say that I liked the sound of the Ric ground rounds that were on it too. Different, but good tasting flavors, both.

Now I love playing the flats on my P Bass, its so smooth and without finger string noise and its I feel the same way with the TI flats on the Ric. If they last a while (as I have been told), I will update my rating to "5"

  8. Highly Recommended for Rick 12's

Posted by Greg W on 9th Dec 2013

I recently purchased these strings for my Rickenbacker 660-12. This is my 3rd Rick 12 and I've owned it for 15 years. In my experience it has been difficult getting the right combination of intonation, tone and playability on the Rickenbacker 12's. I've tried a number of different string sets and combinations of sets over the years. This is, hands down, the best set of strings I've ever had on the guitar. Silky smooth with a sweet ringing tone, and better playability than other flatwounds I've tried. And, I either got lucky with the intonation, or these strings are magic; I didn't have to do any setup.

  9. The best strings for getting that vintage Rickenbacker tone!

Posted by Mark Pytko on 14th Oct 2013

This is my second set I purchased from here and I highly recommended them along w/ a Jangle Box to get that vintage Rickenbacker tone! These strings make the guitar come to life.

  10. Still the best!

Posted by Simon T, Jersey City NJ on 30th Aug 2013

I've been using the PoTR Custom TI-flats 12-string set ever since I discovered them a few years ago. I've tried almost every other 12-string set out there and the TI-flats set stands out as the best for my Rics. Why? No other set can do ALL this:
    * warm but still bright and jangly (I know that sounds impossible but the TI-flats achieve this) - this sonic signature works great with my Rics
    * absolutely nails the 1960s vintage sound
    * super long lasting, almost never break unless you didn't install them properly in the first place
    * amazing quality and finish (the red silk windings look very classy)
    * perfect intonation with no adjustment needed to tuning (with other sets I've had to tune down one or more strings to get decent intonation up the fretboard)
I hope that Chris Clayton never stops selling these! My Rics do not sound the same without them.
